Kristen sighed to herself. She dragged her exhausted body into the villa. When Auntie Scott saw her coming back, she immediately went forward and asked her with concern.

“Miss Oliver, why are you back so late? Have you eaten yet? Would you like to eat something?”

Auntie Scott treated Kristen as her daughter, taking good care of her daily life in the villa.

“It’s okay, Auntie Scott. I want to have a break.”

Kristen went back to her room. Her phone rang as soon as she lay down.

“Why didn’t you call to check today?” Ethan asked in a teasing tone. He couldn’t meet Kristen, so he could only comfort her through the phone.

The gloom in Kristen’s heart was swept away when she heard Ethan’s voice.

“You called as soon as I got home. I just wanted to ask you if you had received treatment well.”

The two were as sweet as a pair of lovers. Kristen talked to Ethan about her daily life in the production crew, and Ethan would also report what he had done today.

As they chatted, Kristen listened to Ethan’s voice and fell asleep peacefully.

The next day, Kristen struggled to wake up when Auntie Scott knocked on the door.

“Auntie Scott, I’m up. I’ll come out for breakfast right away.”

Kristen patted her face and tried her best to be awake. She still had to go to the production team today, so she couldn’t be delayed.

After arriving at the crew, Anna quickly told Kristen about today’s schedule. The film was as boring as usual, but Kristen took every scene seriously.

“Cut! Kristen’s action drama is really good and she passed every scene just one time. Thank you for your hard work. The crew has booked a takeaway meal and we’ll take a break. Let’s continue in the afternoon.”

As Mr. Scott spoke to everyone, the workers began packing up. Anna handed the cup of water she had prepared to Kristen in advance.

Anna tidied up Kristen’s hair accessories while caring about her state.

Kristen choked on water guiltily. “No… I’m just a little hungry. What are we having for lunch today?”

Anna had doubts in her heart, but she did not continue to ask. She put down the wig in her hand and went to fetch lunch for Kristen.

Kristen bit her straw and took a look in the mirror. As expected, she had dark circles under her eyes.

“It’s all Ethan’s fault…” Kristen looked at herself in the mirror and muttered.

There was a pair of eyes staring at them from the shadows, but Kristen did not notice that when Anna returned, that person had quietly left.

“Sis, did someone come to ask you for your autograph just now?”

Anna thought that she had dim eyesight. It seemed that there was a staff member who had been staring at them.

“No. No one is coming to me. Don’t worry about it. Let’s eat first!”

Kristen tried to resolve her unhappiness. Usually, buying and eating were the fastest ways to recover.

On the other end, Ethan was receiving Doctor M’s treatment on time every day. He hoped that he could go back earlier to see Kristen and hug her.

“Bro, how are you going to deal with Scarlett Alene? Although Steve has been arrested, this woman still has covetous thoughts for the TNK Group.”

Xeons showed Ethan the latest news. Scarlett stood guard at the door of the TNK Group, wanting to see Ethan.

Since Ethan learned that Scarlett was a pawn planted by Steve, and she even framed Kristen, this person had been blacklisted.

“I spared her life because I take into account our friendship and the big fire that year. Let Jacob deal with this matter. If she doesn’t leave, let her guard here. Anyway, there won’t be any result.”

Ethan had nothing to say to a woman who had betrayed him once. Moreover, Scarlett had repeatedly done it.

“Mr. Wharton, I showed you the treatment plan last time. If you get sick again, you may need to change your heart. Can you accept it?”

Heloise handed Ethan a risky contract. Xenos, who was standing to one side, looked worried. He opened his mouth and he wanted to say something to stop Ethan, but he hesitated and didn’t say anything.

“Doctor M, just do what you need to do. I have no objections.” Ethan knew his body well. Xenos had treated him for so many years and he could only idle away. Even if the hope was slim, he still wanted to live with Kristen for a long time.

In the past, nothing was holding him back, but now, Ethan was worried about Kristen.

“Okay, Mr. Wharton, I will arrange an operation for you as soon as possible.”

Heloise wasn’t surprised that Ethan would agree to the surgery so readily. People were all afraid of death. If there was a chance to survive, he would give it a shot.

The day of filming finally ended. Kristen, as expected, saw Elvis waiting for her again.

“Why are you here again? Didn’t I tell you that you don’t need to pick me up? I can go back myself. It’s not good to be photographed.”

Kristen didn’t want to have too much contact with Elvis. She had agreed to her aunt’s request because of Ethan’s illness, but she was still a little against Elvis.

Scarlett had been waiting to meet Ethan at the entrance of the TNK Group, but she hadn’t received any response since Jacob’s last visit.

“Miss Alene, I think I made it clear last time. If you don’t leave, we will take legal action.”

Jacob glanced coldly at Scarlett. The security guards followed behind her. She was dissatisfied but could only leave awkwardly.

Sitting in the car, Scarlett looked up at the TNK Group. “I can’t give up a hundred million for nothing. Ethan, if you don’t care about our relationship, then I’ll let you feel painful, too!”

Scarlett knew that Kristen was Ethan’s weakness. That woman was just as good-looking as her. How could she replace her?

“Hey, help me contact someone. I want to do business with your boss.”

A hint of viciousness flashed across Scarlett’s face. The substitute and her, only one could exist!

Heloise learned from Heloise that Ethan was going to have an operation. Although she knew her aunt’s medical skills, she still panicked.
