The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 1710

Carrie was startled, and the paintbrush in her hand fell to the ground with a sudden thud. The next moment, she watched in wide-eyed horror as a person flew past outside the window. Immediately after, there was a loud crash.

Carrie abruptly stood up from her chair. Her body was stiff as a puppet. She walked step by step to the window and looked down at the scene below. At first glance, her mind went blank in terror. She covered her mouth in shock and staggered back, her legs limp.

It was a sight too horrifying to behold. A girl had fallen to her death, and her limbs were twisted gruesomely. Meanwhile, chaos erupted downstairs and filled the corridor with endless screams.

Carrie's heart pounded like a drum. Without time to process anything, she grabbed her teddy bear from the table and dashed out of the classroom.

"Yasmin... Yasmin, where are you?!"

Calling out for Yasmin, Carrie ran through the empty corridor, her mind filled with the horrifying image of the girl's tragic death.

Not knowing where she was headed, she heard the frantic footsteps behind her and the desperate cries for help.

"Help! Murder... Help!"

Murder?! Carrie turned in shock, only to see two male students covered in blood rushing in her direction for their lives. Chasing after them was a disheveled middle-aged man, wielding a machete and covered in bloodstains!

Carrie had never encountered such a scene before. She clutched the teddy bear tightly, unable to move.

"You beasts! I'll kill you!" The middle-aged man's face twisted with hateful rage. He raised the bloodied knife high and swung it toward the two boys.

Trembling, Carrie backed away. One of the boys suddenly grabbed her arm, seeing her as a shield. He then forcefully pushed her toward the knife-wielding assailant.

"Ahh!"

The teddy bear fell from Carrie's hand as she collided with the middle-aged man. Meanwhile, the two treacherous boys took the opportunity to escape.

The man intended to push Carrie aside and give chase, but urgent police sirens blared from outside the window.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

"Help... Help! Ugh!"

In a panic, the man's strong arm grasped Carrie's shoulder from behind, and he held the knife menacingly against her fair neck.

"Don't make a sound! If you want to live, come with me!"

The students ran out in panic. Outside the building, onlookers gathered as police officers set up a cordon, pushing the crowd back, yet the scene remained chaotic. Some journalists even rushed over setting up cameras to grab the headlines.

"What's the situation now?!" Ralph was dressed in plain clothes. He bent down to cross the police cordon and swiftly entered the building like an unstoppable force against the light. His eyes were sharp and cold.

"Captain Ralph! The perpetrator is named Brian Wise, 52 years old. He's a production line worker at the Savrow Automobile Factory!" Two subordinates anxiously reported as they followed behind him. "Currently, a female student fell to her death, and a male student was stabbed five times and died on the way to the hospital. Two other male students were also injured, but fortunately managed to escape and have been taken to the hospital."

Ralph's brows furrowed deeply. "Was the female student's fall a suicide?"

"We checked the surveillance footage at the scene. She did jump off, but Brian Wise forced her to!"

Ralph found it strange and asked in a deep voice, "Do these five students know each other?"

"We asked their teachers and supervisors. They were classmates and had a good relationship, often hanging out together on the seventh-floor terrace to smoke and have fun." Ralph squinted his sharp eyes. "So, the location of the incident was also the seventh-floor terrace?"

"Yes."

He immediately understood that Brian Wise was not a psychopath who killed indiscriminately.
