Jackson and Connor got out of the car and walked to Master Zack’s ward. Jackson asked the bodyguard at the door, “Is the old man asleep?”
“Not yet,” the bodyguard answered respectfully.
Jackson told Connor, “Wait for me outside.” After that, he pushed open the door and walked in.
Zack Valor was sitting on the hospital bed, looking through a photo album.
Jackson knew the album contained photos of his father, Jude Valor, from childhood to adulthood. Although the old man always complained about Jude, Jude was once his pride and was someone the old man had high hopes for.
