As Liam stepped out of the office, he hit the answer button and asked Celeste in a deliberately aloof tone, “Have you had dinner yet? Do you still remember that you have a boyfriend?”

Celeste thought to herself, realizing that Liam really was the jealous type.

“How did you know we were going to have dinner?” Celeste asked.

Liam stopped in his tracks and smirked. “Don’t I know you? You always take your lawyer out for dinner after finishing paperwork, right?”

Liam paused, his eyebrows furrowing. “What happened to Mason?”

“Someone cut his hand; he’s getting stitches at the hospital now. You’re close with his family, right? You should contact them.”

Liam frowned, “Weren’t you guys going to handle the land ownership certificate? How did he get hurt?”

Celeste briefly explained what happened in the afternoon to Liam

Liam agreed and then asked, “Are you at the hospital now?”

“No” Celeste whispered, “I didn’t go to the hospital. I just finished giving my statement, and I’m on my way home now.”

Liam was a bit surprised

Although he didn’t want Letti and Mason to get too close, he knew Celeste was a very polite person. If something happened to him, she would probably stay with him at the hospital.
