My Invincible Husband Has Returned

Chapter 168

Chapter 168

Yale, discarded at the entrance, wanted to fight back, but the sight of the stern soldiers outside quelled his courage. He slunk away, nursing his bruises, as onlookers applauded.

Yale had always been a bully, hiding behind his status and connections. His comeuppance was a sight for sore eyes.

Liam lounged on the sofa in Kolten's office, his gaze fixed on the cowering Kolten. "Do you even know who I am?" he asked composedly.

Kolten addressed him with utmost reverence, "Mr. Lynch has made his point clear."

Yet, Liam simply chuckled and gave a dismissive shake of his head.

"Kolten, five years have flown by, and you've really come into your own."

Kolten blinked, puzzled, as he stared back at Liam.

Without a word of explanation, Liam reached into his coat and flicked a medal toward Kolten.

Catching it reflexively, Kolten glanced down and was jolted as if hit by a lightning bolt. His face lit up with excitement. He gazed at Liam, bowing deeply, cradling the medal in his hands, his eyes wet with emotion.

"Boss!" The sight of the medal sent waves of shock and awe through Kolten. It was the Azure Dragon Medal!

Five years back, the Jerden Group was a small-time player in Drunham City, teetering on the edge of an economic abyss, its value in freefall, nearly ready to declare defeat.

However, as Kolten stood on the rooftop, ready to leap into oblivion with his dreams and his failing venture, a call from a mysterious benefactor changed everything. A generous infusion of cash saved the company from the jaws of bankruptcy!

From that moment, Jerden Group's fortunes soared, launching a commercial empire that spanned industries.

Kolten rode that momentum to become Drunham City's wealthiest man, and his enterprise became a name to reckon with across Willoughby.

Everything Kolten had achieved was thanks to a mysterious benefactor from his past, a man whose identity was as enigmatic as the blue dragon emblazoned on the medal that served as their bond. Then, that very medal was clutched in Kolten's hands.

He could hardly believe it! The man he had idolized, the enigmatic boss, was none other than Liam, the legendary commander-in-chief of Pendragon, the King Pendragon himself.

Liam caught Kolten's eye and said in a composed, measured tone, "I need you to take care of something for me."

Kolten snapped to attention, a mix of respect and anxiety in his voice. "Whatever you need, boss. I'm on it." NôvelDrama.Org © content.

With a slight smile, Liam laid out the task. "Max Group's deal with Celena requires a supplier for materials. That's your to get everything ready and seal the deal with Celena. And remember, it's got to be Celena. Make sure this goes smoothly and keep my name out of it. I don't want any leaks."

Kolten nodded vigorously. "You've got nothing to worry about, boss. We've got our own supply channels. I'll have someone take the contract over first thing tomorrow."

Liam gave a nod of approval, then strode off with Calum by his side. Kolten watched them go, not letting out the breath he had been holding until they were out of sight.
