My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 856

Chapter 856

After spending these few days together, Esther proved to be a reliable temporary partner without

dragging Logan down. Despite her gender, she displayed unexpected resilience, enduring the time with

him without complaint or impatience.

"But a hunch can't be used as evidence," Esther remarked.

Logan acknowledged that a hunch couldn't serve as evidence. However, his intuition often proved

accurate, helping him avoid many risks. Analyzing the call and the information he overheard today, he

guessed they were likely to make a transaction tonight.

"Let's go to the bar tonight."

Esther simply nodded without asking for details. "Okay."

In the evening, Logan and Esther headed to the bar.

Esther had previously checked the bar's surveillance, identifying its blind spots. The first floor had a

dance floor and booths, while the second floor had private rooms.

Upon arrival, they noticed the BMW group entering the bar. Choosing a private room on the second

floor this time, Logan and Esther debated changing their spot.

Esther leaned close to Logan's ear amidst the electronic music, her orchid-scented fragrance brushing

against his ear. "Should we change our spot?"

Logan's ears unexpectedly turned crimson under the colorful lights.

"Not for now." Logan wrapped his arm around Esther's shoulder, pulling her into his embrace.

Affectionately, he said, "We might need to put on a little act later."

"What act?" Esther asked.

"Depends on the situation. Adapt as needed."

In a bar, abstaining from alcohol wasn't on the agenda. Fortunately, Logan and Esther had good

alcohol tolerance, ensuring they wouldn't get drunk. Hand in hand, they danced, staying close to each

other while continuing their observation.

After a while, a man resembling a traveler with a briefcase entered the bar and headed straight to the

second floor.

Logan and Esther started a heated argument in the bar.

"Your friend's boyfriend is handsome and wealthy. What's it got to do with me?" Logan suddenly

provoked.

Unperturbed, Esther said, "Can't you be a bit more ambitious? Stand up for me?"

"Why should I bother? Is today the first day you met me? You know what kind of person I am, yet you

still..."

"I just want you to find a job, even if you earn enough to support yourself. If you keep being this lazy

every day, have you ever considered our future? If you're like this, what am I going to use to raise

children? How can I have children?"

While quarreling, Logan and Esther discreetly headed to the second floor. The traveler remained

expressionless, observing them arguing.

"What children? I… don't like kids!" Logan exclaimed.

Esther didn't expect Logan to say that he didn't like kids and murmured, "I'm pregnant."

Logan fell silent. He kept an eye on the man who carried the briefcase. While he and Esther brushed

past the traveler as they argued, he smelled drugs on the man—a nauseating, unusual scent.

"I'm talking to you, didn't you hear? I'm pregnant!" Esther cried.

"Is it mine?" Logan retorted sarcastically.

"You..." Esther didn't expect this reaction from Logan. Even though it was all an act, hearing Logan say

that upset her. Her eyes instantly reddened as she pointed at Logan's nose, "You scum!"
