Chapter 175

“Do you have the boss‘ information, Mr. Roulder?” I needed to know his name if I couldn’t meet him.

Xander glanced at me. “Are you interested in our boss?

“Yes. He’s so mysterious. I can’t help but be curious,” I replied honestly

Having ground the coffee beans completely, he smelled the aroma and commented, “Delightful.” Then, he looked at me again. “Let me make you a cup of coffee

“No, thank you.” My curiosity for this mysterious boss had overtaken my ability to enjoy any coffee.

Xander–showed me the freshly ground coffee. ‘Gifted by our boss. You sure you don’t want a try?”

“Rather than trying his coffee, I’d like to meet him more often, I expressed frankly.

Xander merely laughed at my words and said nothing else. I was confused by his strange response.”

“What are you laughing at, Mr. Roulder? Am I asking for too much? Or is there something I should know?”

He shook his head. “No, it’s not too much. I’m just amused by how irresistible our boss is. You’ve never met him, yet you’re dying to see him. He’s kinda dangerous, don’t you think?”

I didn’t know what to say, but I knew Xander was trying to make me laugh. As he put the cup of coffee before me, I suggested, “If that’s what you’re worried about, Mr. Roulder, why not just show

me his resume? I want to know about him.”

“Well… I’m afraid I can’t.”

I anticipated his rejection and sneered. “And the reason being?” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

Xander displayed a look of helplessness. “He doesn’t allow that.”

“Why not?” I felt like Xander was going around in circles.

“He doesn’t want women having ulterior motives about him

The aroma of the coffee reached my nose. With my refined sense of smell for expensive coffee, cultivated thanks to the Gildobs, I knew this coffee before me was the finest of all. I guessed our boss was no ordinary man.

“Let me tell you, Ms. Crown. Our boss is a magnetic man. Sure, the ladies fawn over him, but even i do too

sometimes.” Xander showed no hint of embarrassment in expressing that.

After talking in circles, I realized Xander would not let me meet the boss. As much as I was curious about this man, I didn’t press on further because it would be futile anyway. Not to mention, Xander would assume I was trying to be opportunistic.

“Please take a sip of this coffee, Ms. Crown. I guarantee you this will be your favorite coffee from now on.

Xander strongly recommended it.

I smiled faintly. “If that’s the case, I’d rather not. I’m afraid I can’t afford it to be my favorite coffee,” I said

as I rose and walked to the door.

“Are you sure, Ms. Crown? Not everyone gets to taste such refined coffee. You better not regret it!” he

continued behind me.

Leaving Xander’s office, I heaved a breath of frustration. Not only was Chris infuriating, but so was Xander! This man might look harmless, but he could easily get under my skin.

After returning to my office, I tried to ask around about our boss. However, most of them said they had

only met Xander since they joined the company. The existence of another higher–up was news to them, let alone meeting him.

Could this mysterious boss be fictional? Was Xander playing me for a fool?

As I pondered about it, I received Kara’s call. She sounded panicky, almost bursting into tears. “Maddie, help! Something’s wrong!”
