His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 404

Casper had just wrapped up his day at the office and decided to make a special trip back to the old family estate. As soon as he stepped into the yard, something in the distance caught his eye.

There stood a girl with a slender figure and a ponytail swishing in the air, happily playing games with Brock. Her resemblance to Eliza was uncanny-both in figure and appearance.

"Who's she?" Casper asked, his brow furrowing slightly.

Dillon stepped forward with a slight bow, "Mr. Casper, that's Ms. Susan."

"She looks so much like..." Casper trailed off, stunned.

"You mean she looks like Ms. Valerie, right?" Dillon offered.

The first time Dillon saw Susan, he was equally taken aback. She not only resembled Eliza in looks and aura but even in height. However, she reminded him more of the Eliza from their college days-full of light, youth, and passion. Back then, Eliza could brighten the gloomiest days just by being around. Now, Eliza seemed perpetually cold, distant, and burdened with worries, rarely smiling.

Dillon could see a hint of both anticipation and confusion in Casper's eyes. He guessed that Casper was intrigued by Susan.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

"Mr. Casper, do you want to go say hi?" Dillon suggested.

"No need." Casper's gaze shifted away, his expression cool and collected. He headed towards the main house.

The girl who had been playing with Brock paused as she watched him walk away. After handing Brock over to Marian, she trailed behind Casper.

Inside the spacious living room, children's toys were strewn everywhere. Audrey was engrossed in an animated movie on the TV, holding a half-finished yogurt that Brock had been drinking.

Casper walked in, scanning the floor. "Mom."

"You're here," Audrey replied, glancing around for the little ones. She noticed Susan entering and asked, "Susan, where's Brock?"

"I left him with Marian," Susan replied, her voice clear and reminiscent of Eliza's.

Audrey, looking uneasy, got up. "I'll go check on him."

Dillon took the opportunity to introduce Susan. "Ms. Susan, this is Mr. Casper."

Susan stepped forward lightly, her eyes sparkling with a mix of anticipation and joy. She extended her slender, fair hand toward Casper "Hello, Casper. My name is Susan. I'm your childhood betrothed. I've come back to fulfill our marriage agreement."

A barely perceptible frown crept across Casper's face. He turned slightly to face her. "What did you say?"

"I said..." Susan's eyes widened in disbelief and awe upon seeing his face. She couldn't believe how handsome he was, almost like he had stepped out of a painting. "...you're very handsome."

Casper: ...???

Realizing her blunder, Susan's cheeks flushed. "I mean, I'm your childhood betrothed, Susan. Just now... I just thought you were too handsome, and I couldn't help it..." Her voice grew softer, almost turning into a whisper.

"Go back when you're done playing," Casper said, ignoring her admiration as he sat down.

Susan was puzzled. Was he asking her to leave? "I'm not going back. I came back to marry you," she insisted, her face reddening.

The word "marriage agreement"

made Casper's head ache. Years

ago, Eliza had forced him into marriage with a family agreement. Now, another woman-one who looked like Eliza—was here with a

similar agreement, wanting to marry him.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a laugh. "Dillon, how many more marriage agreements do I have to fulfill?"
