Bang! The car doim was suddenly yanked open, and Quicksilver as swinly pulled our

Are you a cop? Quicksilver asked in astonishment, staring at the man who had just dragged him out

The man was over six feet tall and dressed in a black police uniform with bright yellow stripes that gave a reassuring presence. He wore a helmet, and his entire demeanor exuded starpness and intelligence.

How could a cop have such an impressive aura? Quicksilver thelight to himself,

“Ya, are you alright?” the officer asked in a fow voice.

Quicksilver snapped back to reality and turned his head to the der side,

Just before the door on the other side was opened, the door on his side had been pulled open, and then this cop had yanked

him out.

“Wait. What about him? The person who had just opened the offer door was the one attacking them. Quicksilver, a hacker and detective, was slim and lacked physical skills, but his mind was extremely sharp.

“This definitely wasn’t a hal

sination,‘ he was certain of it.

His gaze darted around nervously, his skin pale and bloodless.

Quicksilver? the officer called out.

Quicksilver jerked his head back, looking at the officer. He raised his head slightly to get a clearer view of the man’s face, and the handsome features struck him as vaguely familiar.

He nodded stiffly.

The officer sighed in relief. “Miss Berry sent me.”

Quicksilver’s pupils widened in surprise as he stared at him. ‘No wonder he looked familiar. He’s one of Alfred’s men. I remember his name, Craig

The man disguised as a police officer was indeed Craig,

When Craig arrived at the scene, he was going from car to car, searching for Quicksilver.

Just moments ago, Craig felt a strong murderous intent and instinctively pulled Quicksilver out of the car in a rush. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Quicksilver let out a long breath and wiped the cold sweat off his forehead. “Thanks“.

Craig nodded, then sensed someone watching him. He looked up and noticed a man in a thick black coat, standing a few cars away, staring at him.

It was Luke, and there was a questioning look in his eyes.

Craig nodded, signaling that he had found Quicksilver.

Luke also breathed a sigh of relief.

After receiving Lea’s message, they had rushed here at breakneck speed. Luke had considered disguising himself as a cop. but there hadn’t been time for him to do so.

Fortunately, Craig had arrived first and saved Quicksilver.

Luke gave Craig a nod of acknowledgment, then quickly turned and disappeared into the flow of people on the chaotic highway, the site of a major accident.

He had sensed the presence of those men and was now going after them.

Buzzing…

In the Mercedes–Benz parked at the highway entrance, Alfred’s phone rang. It was Craig calling. Alfred gave Lea a reassuring look, his expression visibly more relaxed as he answered the call

“Mr. Andrews, I’ve found him. Should I bring him back, or… Craig asked.

Given the situation, it was crucial to ensure Quicksilver’s safety first.

Alfred turned to Lea, seeking her input.

“Bring him here,” Lea instructed.

Alfred relayed her words into the phone.

“Understood, Craig responded.

About five minutes later, a police officer on a motorcycle arrived at the highway entrance, escorting someone to the side of the Mercedes–Benz.

Lea pushed open the car door, and a young man, around twenty–three or twenty–four, appeared.

He was dressed in a black and blue checkered pajama shirt and stood over six feet tall with a slim build, slightly curly hair, thick black–framed glasses, and sharp, delicate features that radiated intelligence.

He was exactly the kind of hacker detective she had imagined.

When Quicksilver saw her, his pupils widened, and his eyes filled with amazement.

He had seen her photos countless times before, but in person, her face was smaller, her features even more refined, and her aura was both commanding and stunning.

The young woman who had won his respect online with her abilities and decisiveness was now standing right in front of him. He was utterly captivated.

“Get in,” Lea said.

Obediently, Quicksilver opened the rear door and got inside.

As the door closed, Craig, having already dealt with the car owners, cleared the road.

Alfred started the car, turning the wheel to maneuver away from the scene, and took a detour. “Head to the base,” Lea instructed.

Half an hour later, the car arrived in front of the mixed–use skyscraper that housed their base.

The building was called Silvertower, standing fifty stories tall, making it one of the tallest in the area. The lower levels hosted restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues, while the middle floors

contained hotels, followed by numerous tech companies above.

The top floor comprised residential apartments.

The building had a complex ecosystem, populated by office workers, mid–level business owners, and, of course, secret

organizations like the Dark Union, which had a foothold here.

The base had been attacked, and even though it was the middle of the night, there were still other members inside.

Formimately, most of the key members weren’t at the base, such as Shannon. If they had all been there, it would have spelled

disaster.

Iverton was a bustling metropolis. Although it was late, many companies and individuals operated around the clock, working while awake and sleeping only when exhausted.

The majority of the lights in the skyscraper were still on.

Just as they arrived, Craig showed up with seven or eight bodyguards.

Craig had already changed out of the police uniform and was now on his own racing motorcycle, accompanied by just two men, while the rest of his team remained hidden in the shadows, providing

covert protection..

As soon as the car came to a stop, Lea pushed the door open to get out, but Quicksilver was even faster. His mind was racing. When the attack happened, there were three people in the office. He managed to escape, but what about the others?

His heart pounded in his chest, and he wished he could instantly be at the office to check on them.

Just as they stepped out of the car, Luke arrived with two others. He had ridden a motorbike, speeding over quickly. Approaching Lea, he said, “Miss Berry, we lost them on the highway”

Although they had sensed those presences, it was easy to lose track of people in the vast crowd, especially in the dead of night.

“No worries,” Lea responded calmly. These people had made a move. They were bound to leave traces behind. It would take time, and they could be tracked down. She knew they had done their best.

“Let’s go up and take a look first,” she added, then started walking forward.

Luke quickly stepped in front of her to shield her, Alfred walked by her side, Quicksilver followed closely behind, and Craig, along with his men, provided protection from the rear.

The group took the elevator straight up to the 45th floor, where the base was located.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, everyone’s expressions grew serious, and their brows furrowed.

The hallway’s electrical wiring had been destroyed, leaving only one flickering light. Firefighting equipment was scattered all over the floor along the corridor leading to the office.

The office door was tightly shut, with a large amount of blood seeping out from underneath, filling the air with a heavy stench of blood. Faint, agonized moans could be heard from behind the door.

Even Lea and Alfred tensed up at the sight.

“Brian… Spitfire…” Quicksilver called out his colleagues‘ names, about to rush forward.

Craig immediately held him back, drawing a handgun from the back of his coat as he moved toward the door.

But Luke was already ahead of him, positioning himself at the entrance.

The two men exchanged a quick glance, and then Luke kicked the door open with a powerful thrust.

Craig raised his gun, aiming inside, his eyes narrowing as his brow furrowed.
