Just then, Quicksilver heard a dull thud and jerked his head around only to see a hand pressed against his window.
The hand, gloved in black, cast a dark shadow over the car in the dim light.
Quicksilver’s eyes widened in terror. His heart sank as if he had fallen into a bottomless pit.
He recognized that the person was one of the pursuers. They had a distinctive aura, like ruthless killers from beyond the
